This village is a magical place, another world. The village (current population 25 plus Sandy the dog) traces its origins to the Byzantine period. The character of many of the buildings has been maintained and the streets are steep and narrow, some still paved with cobbles and stones. This was one of the richest villages in Cyprus with an abundance of underground water. Surrounding hillsides are terraced and planted with vines. Governor’s Beach is about a 35 minute drive.
