Church Town of Gammelstad
The church village of Gammelstad is a world famous UNESCO World Heritage Site and worthy of a visit! This is an outstanding example of a Northern Scandinavian church town with more than 400 cottages which were used to house the parishioners who lived too far away to make the journey for major religious festivals and celebrations. The city of Luleå was founded around the church in the 17th century. This tour includes a sightseeing tour of the village with private guide.

Husky Adventures in Luleå

Husky driver course
During a whole day you will learn everything about the Alaskan husky, how to drive your own sled, harness the huskies, commands, curving, braking techniques etc. This a real adventure where the guides will share their knowledge and experiences with you. Lunch and dinner in Lappish tee-pee in the snow covered and beautiful pine forests of Luleå.

Snowmobile Arctic Archipelago Expedition
You will be picked up in the morning from your hotel for a short briefing before being transferred to the starting point. You will be equipped with thermal clothing and safety equipment. The tour heads out into the frozen archipelago across the white snow-covered desert. You pass by the 17th century fishing village on Hindersön and then stop at the beautiful Jopikgården Inn for coffee and a snack. After the break if the ice conditions allow you will try to reach the drift ice area with its spectacular view and its small chapel.
After half a day of snow-mobile driving you reach Kluntarna, where we will stop for our outdoor lunch sitting on reindeer skins around the campfire. There is the possibility of seeing moose, reindeer and other wildlife. After lunch you will take part in a snowshoe trekking tour to the highest peak of the island through the spectacular and beautiful forest. Back at the snowmobiles you continue to Bastaskärto to look at the well preserved shipwreck. In the afternoon you will head back towards the mainland where you can try ice fishing en route before we get back to the mainland where our expedition ends.
