At 190 metres above sea level, Skarinou lies slightly north east of Khirokatia and within a 15 minute drive to Governor’s Beach
and the fish tavernas of Zygi. Built in medieval times, the village is dominated by its church Panayia I Odigidria (The Guiding Virgin Mary) and was known as S. Harinou in Frankish times – probably the name of a Byzanine saint. The village has a current population of 250 persons. It is a picturesque village, built on a hillside with well preserved traditional houses. There are two traditional coffee shops, two tavernas and two mini-markets.
